Vancouver Whitecaps are in talks to sign highly rated Canadian midfielder Emrick Fotsing from Canadian Premier League side Vancouver FC.
Transfermarkt’s Manuel Veth reports that discussions are underway over a move for the 18-year-old, who has established himself as one of the most promising young midfielders in Canadian football.
Fotsing joined Vancouver FC ahead of the 2025 season on an Exceptional Young Talent contract running through 2027, with a club option for 2028. In his first professional campaign, he made 26 appearances across all competitions and scored four goals.
His development has continued on the international stage. Fotsing was part of Canada’s squad at the 2026 Concacaf U-20 Championship and scored twice in the 3-0 group-stage victory over Panama.
A move to the Whitecaps would take Fotsing from the Canadian Premier League into MLS while allowing him to remain in Vancouver, representing another significant step in a rapidly developing career.
No agreement has yet been announced, with the clubs currently reported to be in talks.
