About SkyrScout

SkyrScout is an independent scouting project, highlighting overlooked football players and talents with high potential and low price tags.

We focus on identifying promising footballers from lesser-known leagues and lower divisions. Players who show signs of real potential without the hype or inflated price tags.

All our scouting is based on publicly available video and data, and our goal is to showcase players that clubs in leagues like the Norwegian Eliteserien should consider.

We run this project as amateurs, out of passion for football, smart scouting, and critical analysis.

Our findings are published through our scouting reports and videos, and are discussed in greater detail in our podcast, Scout of This World, which is recorded in our native language, Norwegian.

Thank you for visiting SkyrScout. The website is under active development and will continue to expand with new scouting reports, updates and additional features.

The people behind the aliases

The SkyrScout crew

Three aliases. Three different approaches. One completely unnecessary rating system.

Founder / Host / Editor / General Instigator

Bon Scout

“What if...?”

Started SkyrScout as a YouTube channel and has since shown very little ability to leave well enough alone. Runs the creative and publishing side of the wider SkyrScout universe: three YouTube channels, the Scout of This World podcast on Spotify, the Scout of This World account on X and the SkyrScout website.

Records and hosts the podcast, edits the full episode, produces its video version, contributes ideas and material to the scripts, publishes the finished show and handles presentation and promotion. On the scouting side, also produces selected player videos himself, while Scout Pilgrim makes the vast majority. Bon adds music and presentation, prepares the uploads, writes the supporting material and gets the finished work out into the world.

Also makes the original music released through 404 Bon Blondes, builds websites and continues to ask “What if...?” with consequences that are rarely contained to the original question.

Chief Scout / Main Video Producer / Scriptwriter / Expert Opinionator

Scout Pilgrim

“Æ si, og påstår...”

Chief Scout and the relentless engine behind much of SkyrScout's scouting work. Produces the vast majority of the player videos, writes most of the full scouting reports and prepares the backbone of the scripts for Scout of This World.

Follows developments around “our players”, keeps Bon Scout supplied with updates and, perhaps most importantly, actually takes the time to work out what the numbers mean before drawing conclusions from them. His enormous work capacity and discipline keep a large part of the project moving forward.

On the podcast he has mastered the rare ability to talk on both inhale and exhale, and is never afraid to crack the whip in Rosenborg's direction when required. Which, in recent years, has been quite often. He also promotes the podcast on Diskutopia, apparently because scouting, writing, video production and talking were not enough.

Video Scout / Original Scouting Instigator / Eye-Test Merchant

Scouty Pippen

“Just look at this guy.”

One of the original sparks behind the scouting side of SkyrScout. Pippen wanted a place to contribute his own player observations and has a natural eye for spotting potential from match footage.

All three members of the crew trust the eye test, but Pippen's particular strength is the ability to form a strong early read from very limited evidence — and to be annoyingly right about it with remarkable frequency.

His profiles are built around what he actually sees: movement, technique, decision-making, physical qualities and those little moments that make you stop the video and look again. Output can arrive on its own timetable, but the hour-long Kevin Benkič production remains Exhibit A for what happens when he really gets his teeth into a player.
