Zhasulan Amir is a highly versatile attacking player standing 183 cm tall, currently representing FC Ordabasy in the Kazakhstan Premier League. Although capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, winger, second striker, or as a lone centre-forward, his long-term potential appears highest as a number nine.

Powerful, explosive, and blessed with lightning pace, Amir is one of the most exciting young attacking prospects in Kazakhstan. He combines outstanding acceleration with very good technical ability, making him an excellent progressive ball carrier. Just when defenders think they have contained him, he changes gears and attacks the space behind the defensive line with intelligent, well-timed runs.

His versatility extends to his finishing. Amir is genuinely two-footed and finishes confidently with either foot. Inside the penalty area he shows excellent movement, consistently finding dangerous positions and attacking crosses with determination. Fearless in physical duels despite his age, he competes aggressively for aerial balls and possesses very good heading ability. Combined with his pace, movement, and finishing, he is an extremely difficult striker to defend against.

His broad technical skill set and athletic profile suggest significant long-term potential. While he has already performed well in several attacking roles, we believe his ceiling is highest as a central striker.

Areas for improvement

His passing accuracy and link-up play are solid but can still be refined. Like most players of his age, his tactical understanding continues to develop, and greater consistency in his positioning and decision-making will naturally come with experience.

Career trajectory and current form

Amir is a product of FC Ordabasy’s academy in his hometown of Shymkent and made his senior debut in March 2025.

Although not yet a regular starter, he has made an immediate impact during the 2026 season. Across his first 15 league appearances, he has recorded 6 goals and 2 assists while also winning two penalty kicks, playing an important role in Ordabasy’s rise to the top of the Kazakhstan Premier League ahead of rivals Kairat.

His performances were rewarded with his senior international debut for Kazakhstan in June 2026. He officially registered an assist on debut, although the eventual goalscorer deserved much of the credit for the finish.

Transfer outlook

Kazakhstan currently sits 37th in the UEFA league coefficient rankings. Much of the international attention has naturally focused on fellow teenage sensation Dastan Satpayev (17), whose move to Chelsea has dominated headlines. As a result, Amir has developed somewhat under the radar despite producing an excellent breakthrough season of his own.

With his contract reportedly expiring on 30 December 2026, he is likely to attract considerable interest from clubs in stronger European leagues, potentially as early as this summer.

Profile-wise, Amir appears particularly well suited to Scandinavian football. While he may not immediately command a starting role, his combination of pace, athleticism, versatility, and finishing ability gives him a high developmental ceiling. For clubs in the Norwegian Eliteserien, he represents exactly the type of signing that could develop into a major success with patience and regular opportunities.
