Scouting Report
Eduards Daškevičs • 23-year-old right winger • Latvia
Eduards Daškevičs is a right winger who operates more as a wide playmaker for FK Auda than a traditional touchline winger. Standing just 171 cm tall, he is exceptionally athletic, combining strength, balance, and agility in a physique more reminiscent of a professional gymnast than a footballer. Quick over the first few metres and possessing very good top-end speed, he is a constant threat in transition.
His low centre of gravity, outstanding balance, and refined technical ability make him one of the most difficult players to dispossess in the Baltic region. Daškevičs is an elite dribbler and progressive ball carrier, reflected in an outstanding 8.3 successful dribbles per match at an 82% success rate according to Sofascore. Those are exceptional numbers by any standard and rarely seen in top-flight European football.
Although he is at his best with the ball at his feet, he also makes intelligent runs beyond the defensive line when opportunities arise, adding another dimension to his attacking game.
He relentlessly attacks full-backs, driving towards the byline to deliver dangerous crosses into the penalty area. His left foot is his biggest weapon, whether crossing, shooting, passing, or delivering set pieces. He is particularly dangerous from dead-ball situations, producing high-quality corners and direct free kicks. Despite being predominantly left-footed, he also uses his right foot comfortably for crosses and combinations, making him less predictable than many inverted wingers.
Daškevičs combines technical quality with excellent football intelligence. He reads the game well, links effectively with the striker and midfielders, and consistently creates chances through his vision and creativity. Despite his height, he competes surprisingly well in aerial duels, although naturally he is not heavily involved in them.
Another quality that deserves recognition is his leadership. At just 23 years old, and turning 24 in July, he has established himself as the natural captain of one of Latvia’s most talented young squads, demonstrating maturity well beyond his years.
Areas for improvement
Passing accuracy can still be refined slightly, particularly on more ambitious final-third passes. Otherwise, Daškevičs has remarkably few weaknesses for a player in his position. The next challenge is simply proving that he can reproduce the same level of performance in a stronger league.
Career trajectory and current form
Daškevičs developed through the academy at BFC Daugavpils before earning a move to Anderlecht in 2018, where he represented both the U18 and U21 sides.
In August 2021 he joined HamKam in Norway, where the club earned promotion to the Eliteserien. After making eight appearances in Norway’s top flight, he chose to return home in search of regular football, joining Riga FC in January 2023 for a reported fee of €100,000.
Following two productive seasons with Riga, FK Auda invested €350,000 to sign him in August 2025. After missing the opening three matches of the 2026 season through injury, Daškevičs has returned in outstanding form, recording 4 goals and 6 assists in his first 15 league matches while averaging an exceptional 8.01 Sofascore rating. He has arguably been the standout player in the Virslīga this season.
Internationally, he has already accumulated 24 caps for Latvia since making his debut in 2023 and has valuable experience from UEFA Champions League qualifying campaigns with Riga FC.
Transfer outlook
With Latvia currently ranked 39th in the UEFA league coefficient, Daškevičs appears ready for a more competitive environment. His technical profile, creativity, and tactical intelligence make him an excellent fit for Scandinavian football, particularly the Norwegian Eliteserien, where he already has previous experience from his time with HamKam.
Interested clubs may have to move quickly. Belgian clubs have increasingly targeted the Baltic market, and FK Auda has already demonstrated its ability to develop and sell talent after the reported €3 million transfer of teammate Josué Vergara. Given Daškevičs’ influence on virtually every attacking phase, it is difficult to imagine he has escaped the attention of those same scouts.
With a contract running until December 2027, he will not come cheaply. A transfer fee in the region of €1–1.5 million appears a realistic valuation for one of the Baltic region’s most complete attacking players.
