Moisés Paniagua is once again attracting significant transfer attention, with reports linking the Bolivia international to several European clubs as his future at Wydad Casablanca comes under renewed scrutiny.
Kikai Scouting reports that Wydad have received offers involving Ferencváros, Celtic and Ajax’s reserve side, plus one additional unnamed club. The report also points to Wednesday, August 19 as a deadline for the next step in the process.
Bolivian journalist Kevin Gallardo has gone further, citing information from Morocco and claiming that Wydad have given the green light to four formal proposals. Gallardo names Ferencváros, Celtic, Ajax and Hapoel Tel Aviv as the four clubs.
There is, however, conflicting information. Ferencváros-focused outlet Üllői út 129, which picked up Gallardo’s report, states that its own information is that the Hungarian club has not submitted an offer. For now, the reported Ferencváros bid should therefore be treated with caution, while the wider interest around Paniagua appears to be developing quickly.
A complicated ownership picture
The contractual situation is also less straightforward than the phrase “Wydad have accepted offers” might suggest.
When Paniagua moved from Always Ready to Wydad in January, the Moroccan club’s announcement was reported by El Deber as a one-year loan with an option to buy that would lead to a four-year permanent contract. In the same report, however, Paniagua’s agent Silvio Fontana said the operation was a definitive transfer worth more than €2.6 million.
Paniagua himself added another layer of uncertainty later that day. Speaking to El Deber, he rejected reports describing the move as a loan, while declining to explain the exact structure and saying that only a small number of people knew the full details. Neither Wydad nor Always Ready publicly disclosed the complete financial and contractual terms.
That distinction matters now. If the loan-and-option structure remains legally in place, an onward transfer may require Wydad to exercise its purchase option or otherwise reach an arrangement with Always Ready before Paniagua can be sold. If the player’s and agent’s description of a permanent transfer reflects the operative agreement, Wydad may already control those rights. The public information does not currently make the mechanism clear.
Paniagua, who turns 19 tomorrow on August 16, has already experienced a rapid rise. SkyrScout profiled him in June 2025 while he was still 17 and playing for Always Ready, highlighting his acceleration, direct ball carrying, finishing, creative passing and maturity, and assessing him as ready for a significantly stronger league.
A little over a year later, reported interest from clubs such as Celtic and Ajax suggests that another major step may be approaching. The destination, the precise nature of the offers and even the contractual route required to complete a move remain unresolved, making this a transfer story worth following closely.
