Video Scout Profile
This player profile is based on video scouting by Scout Pilgrim. A full written scouting report is not currently available.
Samuli Miettinen is only 20 and already a regular for reigning Finnish champions KuPS. A left-footed centre-back with strong ball-carrying ability and an excellent passing range, he fits exactly the type of profile clubs are looking for. At 188 cm, he is big and strong, and competes well in duels.
There are questions over his pace. He can look slow at times, although he may be quicker than first impressions suggest. The bigger concern is his defensive awareness: he can be vulnerable to runs off his shoulder and occasionally loses his man when marking. These are typical young-defender mistakes and areas he needs to sharpen.
His body language after conceding is also an area to improve.
