Richardson Kwaku Denzell is a 21-year-old versatile attacker who can play both as a centre-forward and left winger. Reportedly standing somewhere between 178 and 180 cm, he has a strong and compact build. However, I believe he plays much more to his strengths out on the flank than as a lone striker, where his size becomes more of a limitation. A second-striker role could also suit his abilities.

The first thing that catches your eye with Denzell is his lightning speed. It really stands out at the level of the Serbian second tier. Combined with solid one-on-one dribbling and good-quality crossing, this makes him a constant threat to defenders whenever he gets space to attack.

From the wing, he usually starts wide but frequently moves into pockets of space in the left half-space. Here, he can make particularly good use of his excellent passing with his right foot. On several occasions this season, he has successfully threaded precise passes with the outside of his right foot to put teammates into dangerous positions. It is a small detail, but one that highlights his technical ability and creativity.

That does not mean he is dependent on his right foot. His left foot is also decent, giving him more options when receiving, carrying and finishing.

His right foot is also capable of producing powerful strikes from distance, adding another dimension to his attacking game. Defenders therefore have to be aware of more than just his pace and ability to attack the space.

What really makes Denzell difficult to handle, however, is his combination of speed and movement. He repeatedly makes well-timed runs in behind the defensive line, and once he gets moving, his acceleration and lightning pace over distance make him extremely difficult to catch. This has resulted in a high number of one-on-one situations with the goalkeeper, where his pace allows him to turn relatively simple passes into genuine scoring opportunities.

Although his height limits his aerial ability to some degree, particularly when contesting long balls from deep as a centre-forward, he has good jumping ability and timing. He is also fearless in aerial duels and does not shy away from competing against bigger opponents.

Denzell has also shown versatility in front of goal. He has already scored with both his right and left foot this season, as well as with his head. When you put all these qualities together; pace, movement, dribbling, passing, crossing and two-footed finishing, Richardson Kwaku Denzell stands out as one of the most exciting young attackers in the Serbian second tier.

Areas for improvement

Despite his wide and impressive skill set, there is still plenty of room for development.

His attacking output could be even higher. He should be capable of producing more key passes and assists for his teammates, particularly given the number of dangerous situations he creates. His composure in front of goal can also improve. In one-on-one situations with the goalkeeper, he too often opts to shoot low when lifting the ball over the goalkeeper could be a better option. Improving his decision-making and composure in these situations could add several more goals to his record.

His biggest weakness, however, is his defensive contribution. His work rate is good, but in modern football, wingers are increasingly expected to contribute aggressively without the ball. Pressing, winning ground duels and intercepting passes are all areas where Denzell can improve.

The encouraging part is that these are qualities that can be developed through coaching, tactical understanding and hard work. If he can add a stronger defensive contribution to his existing attacking skill set, his overall profile becomes significantly more complete.

Career trajectory and current form

Richardson Kwaku Denzell began his professional career with local clubs in Ghana, although we have not been able to establish exactly which clubs he played for.

In July 2023, at just 18 years old, he moved to Rajasthan United FC in the Indian I-League. He immediately made an impression, scoring a remarkable 16 goals in 21 matches.

Those performances caught the attention of FK Jedinstvo Ub, who signed him on 1 September 2024 after the club had secured promotion to the Serbian SuperLiga. The move from the Indian I-League was something of an experimental gamble for the newly promoted club, but Denzell quickly showed that he could compete at a higher level.

He delivered a solid four goals in 23 appearances in the SuperLiga during the 2024/25 season, although it was not enough to prevent Jedinstvo Ub from being relegated.

Back in the Prva Liga during the 2025/26 season, Denzell scored six goals in 32 appearances. The club, however, failed to secure an immediate return to the top flight.

This season, Jedinstvo Ub have made a poor start, collecting only seven points from their first ten matches. For Denzell, however, the story has been very different. He has started the 2026/27 campaign strongly, scoring five goals in his first nine appearances and once again proving to be a constant threat to opposition defences.

Transfer outlook

Serbia is currently ranked 29th in the UEFA league ranking, while the second tier is naturally a significant step below that level.

Denzell nevertheless possesses several qualities that suggest he is ready for, and capable of succeeding in, a significantly higher-ranked league. His lightning pace, acceleration, dribbling ability, physical toughness and movement in behind are all valuable attributes that are difficult to teach.

I believe Scandinavian football could suit him well, although I would perhaps look towards Sweden before Norway at this stage. The Allsvenskan could provide a sensible next step, particularly because its technical demands may suit Denzell while giving him time to further develop his defensive game. The Norwegian Eliteserien is also a possibility, but the intensity and defensive demands of the league would make his current weaknesses more exposed, particularly in terms of pressing and defensive duels.

Another interesting route would be the Norwegian second tier, the OBOS-ligaen. It could provide Denzell with a strong platform to adapt to Scandinavian football while remaining at a level where his pace and attacking qualities could make a significant difference. It is also a league that can serve as a showcase for clubs in stronger European leagues, as well as MLS.
