Nicholas Mickelson is a Norwegian-Thai full-back who can operate on either side and also play as a winger on both flanks. He has played extensively at left-back and performs the role very well, while his versatility gives him several options across the wide areas.

His standout qualities are his pace and technique. Mickelson is lightning quick, has an explosive first step and is a very good dribbler. He is especially effective in offensive 1v1 situations, where his acceleration and close control allow him to attack defenders directly.

He also offers strong delivery from wide areas. His passing is good, his crossing can be highly accurate, and his right foot provides a dangerous set-piece threat. Although clearly right-foot dominant, he has a useful left foot and can play effectively from the left side.

Defensively, Mickelson is capable and generally reliable, although he can be a little careless at times. His greatest value comes from the offensive side of the game, where his speed, dribbling, crossing and versatility make him a genuine wildcard across either flank.
