Enzo Oliveira Gonzaga, or simply Enzo, is an 18-year-old right winger. Relatively small in stature at a reported 172 cm, although I would estimate him to be at least 175 cm. Enzo has a sturdy build, a low centre of gravity and good physical robustness. He is quick and agile, with good speed over distance, but perhaps the most surprising aspect of his physical profile is his aerial ability. Despite his size, centre-backs and goalkeepers are not afraid to target him with long balls from deep, as he contests these situations very well. His timing and jumping ability allow him to compete effectively in aerial duels against considerably bigger opponents.

Enzo currently operates on the right side as an inverted winger. He has the skill set to perform well in this role, but long term, we believe a move into a No. 8 role could potentially be where he reaches his highest ceiling. His previous development and the way he already influences games from midfield give some support to this idea, although time will tell whether that transition eventually happens.

From the right wing, Enzo initially positions himself wide but frequently looks to find pockets of space in the right half-space. He is not a flamboyant dribbler, but his excellent technique and close control allow him to escape pressure and beat opponents one-on-one before driving towards the byline to deliver a cross.

Predominantly left-footed, Enzo has a very good passing range. Whether involved in build-up play, playing precise through balls or combining with the striker and midfielders, he has shown an ability to create assists and dangerous attacking situations. His left foot is also capable of producing powerful strikes from distance, adding another dimension to his attacking game.

Enzo plays with a maturity well beyond his years and shows good anticipation of what is developing around him. One of his standout traits is his aggressive pressing. He is constantly looking to close down opponents and intercept passes, and when he wins possession, he can immediately turn defence into attack. This is where his progressive ball-carrying ability becomes particularly valuable.

His movement in behind also deserves attention. Enzo consistently looks for opportunities to attack the space behind the defensive line, and his timing of these runs has already created several dangerous situations and contributed to two goals so far this season.

Another encouraging aspect of his start to the 2026/27 campaign is his consistency. He has delivered solid performances in every match so far, which is particularly impressive given his age and the step into senior football.

Areas for improvement

At times, Enzo can be too conservative in possession and favour the safe back pass over a more progressive option. The same applies in attacking situations, where he could challenge defenders one-on-one more often. With his technical ability, close control and acceleration, he has the tools to be more aggressive and should become increasingly confident in trusting those qualities.

Although already physically strong for an 18-year-old, there is still room for further development in both strength and stamina. Continued physical development should help him cope with the demands of senior football and potentially support a future move into midfield.

Career trajectory and current form

Enzo Oliveira Gonzaga came through the ranks of the world-famous Botafogo academy in Brazil. During his time there, it appears that he mainly played as an attacking No. 8 or No. 10. That background is particularly interesting when assessing his current role on the wing and supports our belief that his long-term ceiling could lie in central midfield.

In January 2026, Enzo joined FK Spartak Subotica from the Serbian SuperLiga, initially signing for the club’s youth team. Spartak Subotica were relegated at the end of the 2025/26 season, leaving them competing in the Serbian second tier for the current campaign.

That has opened the door for Enzo to make his mark in senior football, and he has embraced the opportunity. In his first nine matches of the 2026/27 season, he has scored three goals and provided two assists, while also establishing himself as one of the league’s most consistent and best-performing young players.

Transfer outlook

Serbia is currently ranked 29th in the UEFA league ranking, while the second tier is naturally a significant step below the level represented by that ranking. Nevertheless, the Serbian second tier continues to produce players capable of making the jump to stronger European leagues.

Last year, Skyrscout featured Adonija Bryan Ouanda, who is now playing for Slavia Prague in the Czech league and is set to play Champions League football this autumn. Enzo could potentially follow a similar development path if his current trajectory continues.

At this stage of the season, it seems unlikely that FK Spartak Subotica will immediately return to the Serbian top flight. For Enzo, however, regular senior football at this level is extremely valuable. It gives him the opportunity to adapt to European football, develop physically and gain experience against senior opposition.

A move could potentially be considered as early as January, although the more natural timing may be next summer. There is also an argument for moving early. A January transfer could allow interested clubs to get ahead of the competition before Enzo has another six months to increase his profile.

We believe this is a player with the potential to establish himself in a significantly higher-ranked league within the next three to four seasons. The Norwegian Eliteserien could be a sensible next step. His aggressiveness, high pressing, passing range, technical ability and physical robustness should fit well with several Norwegian clubs favouring a 4-3-3, either as an inverted winger initially or potentially as a No. 8 further down the line.

His contract reportedly runs until 31 May 2030, which gives Spartak Subotica a strong negotiating position. A transfer fee would therefore likely be significant for a player currently operating in the Serbian second tier. It is difficult to estimate the exact value at this stage, but our best guess would be somewhere in the region of €1–1.5 million.

That is a substantial investment for an 18-year-old playing at this level, but if Enzo continues developing along his current trajectory, we believe he could be well worth it.
