Andrés Romero (2003)

This player profile is based on video scouting by Scout Pilgrim. A full written scouting report is not currently available.

Andrés Romero is a Venezuelan central midfielder with outstanding passing range and vision. He is particularly impressive with his right foot, capable of playing very accurate long passes and switching play quickly from one side of the pitch to the other.

Romero is a smart and elegant midfielder who combines athleticism with solid technical fundamentals. He reads the game well, finds good passing angles and has the quality to dictate the tempo from central areas. His distribution gives him the profile of a playmaker who can control possession and move his team up the pitch efficiently.

He also has a tendency to exaggerate contact in an attempt to win fouls. It is not always particularly convincing, but he can still be surprisingly effective at drawing decisions in his favour — something that is hardly unusual in the league or in South American football more broadly.
